After completing only five heats and Sprint Car qualifying Saturday night, the World of Outlaws program was rained out. This makes the fourth rain out experienced by PIR this season. In addition, including tonight, three events have been conducted with rain showering the track during race programs.
This Monday, May 12, PIR and the World of Outlaws will announce a rain date for tonight’s rained out program. Fans and competitors alike should check the PIR web site, paducah racing.com, along with local newspapers, and radio and TV stations for the rescheduled date.
Before the rains came, the World of Outlaws fast qualifier was Chad Kemenah at an average speed of 100.215 mph. Outlaw heats were won by Jason Meyers and Joey Saldana. In the local divisions, Steve Ladd and Todd Miller were Modified heat winners, Jarrett Cathey won the Super Cell Mini Sprint heat. However, these efforts will not be official as a complete new program will be held on the rescheduled date, which will be released this Monday.
PIR will battle the weatherman (and hopefully win for a change!) again this Friday with a six-division program of heats and feature races for Late Models, Modifieds, Crate Late Models, Street Stocks, Warriors, and the Super Cell Mini Sprints. It will be Sanders Kubota Night at PIR.
